Lotus

VivAsia Lotus is designed for the older adult and can help slow down the changes that occur with ageing, such as decreases in:

  • Muscular strength and endurance
  • Flexibility and bone density
  • Movement times
  • Cognitive functions
  • And others

Senior Functional Assessment (SFA)

Senior Functional Assessment, also known as the Senior Fitness Test, was developed by 2 researchers from California State University, Fullerton, Dr. Roberta Rikli and Dr. Jessie Jones. The tests are safe and simple and meets scientific standards for reliability and validity. It has accompanying performance norms from actual performance scores of over 7,000 men and women between the ages of 60 and 94.

The SFA measures the underlying physical parameters associated with functional ability, and identifies whether an older adult may be at risk for loss of functional ability. The tests include:

  • 30-sec Chair Stand: to assess lower body strength which is needed for numerous tasks such as climbing stairs, walking and getting out of a chair or car
  • Arm Curl: to assess upper body strength which is needed for performing household and other activities involving lifting and carrying items such as groceries and grandchildren
  • 2-Minute Step or 6-Minute Walk: to assess aerobic endurance which is important for activities such as walking distances, stair climbing, shopping, and site seeing while on vacation
  • Chair Sit-and-Reach: to assess lower body flexibility which is important for good posture, normal gait patterns, and various mobility tasks
  • Back Scratch: to assesses upper body flexibility which is important in tasks such as combing one’s hair and putting on overhead garments
  • 8-Foot Up-and-Go: to assess agility and dynamic balance which is important in tasks that require quick maneuvering such as getting up to attend something or going to the bathroom

Dance

VivAsia Dance is an aerobic endurance program that will burn fat, increase muscular tone, and enhance your mental processes. Discover your dance personality in a program that is a colorful fusion of cultures, music, dance styles, and props. Dance styles include:

  • K-Pop
  • Tai-chi hip hop, and more

Lil' Dragons

Lil’ Dragons is a theme-based children’s fitness program for kids age 5 – 12. Themes focus on the festivals and celebrations from around the world, particularly the dances, games, activities, and other traditions that children do during those celebrations. Festivals include:

  • Spring and Fall Festival
  • Moon Festival
  • and more….
